Empowering Survivors: The Birth of Our Voice In Valor

Empowering Survivors: The Birth of Our Voice In Valor

In the realm of domestic violence, resilience is the name of the game. Survivors often find strength in the darkest of times, rising above their circumstances to reclaim their lives. My own journey as a survivor fuels my passion for empowering others who have endured similar ordeals. This is the story of how my path led to the creation of Our Voice In Valor.

A Personal Journey of Empowerment

As a survivor, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery over 16 years ago. I realized that, in times of danger, I had to be my own first responder. This awakening prompted me to seek out ways to protect myself and my loved ones. This journey led me to the world of firearms. My experiences, unfortunately, were not unique. Growing up in an environment where domestic violence and substance abuse were prevalent, I learned early on the importance of self-reliance. After overcoming childhood challenges, I went on to college, cherishing the moments of freedom and self-discovery. However, life took an unexpected turn when I found myself in an abusive marriage. Determined not to be a victim, I made the difficult decision to break free and empower myself.

Redstone Firearms: A Catalyst for Change

My journey eventually led me to become a firearm owner and a business owner. I founded Redstone Firearms in 2014, the first brick-and-mortar firearm store in California. With a vision of offering more than just firearms and ammunition, we set out to educate, consult, and train individuals in responsible firearm ownership. I remembered my own experience of buying a firearm, where I was simply told to "pick one." I knew there had to be a better way—a way that considered each individual's unique needs and circumstances. Thus, Redstone Firearms became not only a place to buy firearms but also a hub for education and responsible firearm ownership.

The Birth of Our Voice In Valor

Our Voice In Valor is an extension of my passion for empowering survivors. It's a nonprofit organization aimed at supporting victims of domestic violence and providing resources for their empowerment. Our mission encompasses a wide range of services, from firearms training and education to hand-to-hand combat training, "stop the bleed" training, situational awareness, and more.

The name “Our Voice In Valor" encapsulates the essence of our mission. It's about finding your voice, standing up for yourself, and cultivating inner strength even in the face of adversity.

Our Goals and Collaborations

Our objectives are clear: to empower survivors of domestic violence by equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to protect themselves and their loved ones. We also aim to provide essential resources such as safe shelter, clothing, and counseling services. Collaboration is key to achieving our mission. We have already established partnerships within the shooting sports community and plan to leverage these connections to offer services. Additionally, we will work with professional firearm instructors and mental health professionals to provide comprehensive support.

How You Can Get Involved

Our Voice In Valor is in its early stages, and we are actively building our leadership team. We are looking for individuals who share our passion for empowering survivors to join us on this journey. While initial involvement will be on a volunteer basis, our long-term goal is to compensate those who dedicate their time and expertise to our cause.

A Message of Hope

To survivors of domestic violence, I want to convey a message of hope and empowerment. You do not have to be a victim. Our Voice In Valor is here to support you through your journey, helping you overcome trauma and break the cycle for future generations. We understand that you need more than just basic necessities; you need the tools to protect yourself responsibly.

Stories of Impact

Through our work at Redstone Firearms and advocacy efforts, we have achieved significant milestones. From testifying in front of congressional committees to media recognition, we are making strides in our mission. Redstone Firearms has employed members of our community, and we have received prestigious awards and accolades for our dedication to our cause.
